in the middle of the jungle, just off the Guanacaste coast of Costa Rica, there exists a little piece of heaven.

only a few words and even photos can barely do it justice… because it’s something you need to experience on your own.

i’ve heard people either love Costa Rica or are they’re rather indifferent to it.

to me, it felt like…….…coming home.

the most beautiful thing was how simple life was there…. and i can’t be sure but i personally think it’s the reason it’s actually considered a blue zone. (an area on earth where people apparently live longer than the average human.) Of course I love lavish hotels and luxurious places…but there was just something about this that made it so wonderful… I think “Pura Vida” is the perfect way to explain it! it’s an epicenter for repurposing, recycling, a focus on green living with minimal waste. Experiencing Mother Earth in her most natural state. it was truly an amazing place, free from all distractions, where i could simply connect with my true inner voice & the deepest parts of my soul.

to the amazing women of Healium- Robyn and Jess who led daily yoga classes… i can’t begin to thank you enough- your classes while submersed in nature are ones that will never, ever leave my mat… and i’ll carry these memories forever!

to the owners and staff of the Peace Retreat (every single one of you…) thank you for making me truly feel like I was at home… your level of service was top notch!

to my fellow yogis and who also made the journey to Central America… i find a never-ending smile stretch across my face just thinking about the memories. Long live our Howler monkey wake up calls, late night gecko-cricket fights, and tales of the Scorpion King.

to my hubby who will forever be the calm in my storm… thank you for always making me laugh even when we get lost for 2 hours in the jungle in the wrong direction, opening my eyes to our bread ant friends (RIP Fred, the one who made it back in my suitcase- he’s a true legend among ants now) and having patience with me when I don’t even have it with myself.

i am forever changed.
